The office of the Judge of Probate provides primary contact for residents of Limestone County who may need the following services:

• Administration of estates,
• Adoptions,
• Change of names,
• Conservatorships,
• Corporation recordings,
• Deed and title searches,
• Guardianships,
• Marriage licenses,
• Notary Public applications,
• Involuntary commitments,
• Real property recordings,
• Testamentary wills.

The numerous duties of the office are assigned by the Code of Alabama, 1975. By law the Judge of Probate is also the chief election officer for Limestone County.

On May 6, 2011 Alabama Governor Robert Bentley appointed Stan McDonald to serve as the Judge of Probate in Limestone County.
